Image Released of SUV Officer Whitaker Was Pursuing When He Was Killed — Authorities Asking for Help

It is believed to be the SUV Officer Grant Whitaker was chasing early Sunday morning when his cruiser left the road and struck several trees, killing him.

The vehicle was reportedly traveling at 25 miles per hour over the speed limit when Officer Whitaker began pursuit.

Whitaker was 25 years old and had been with the Ingham County Sheriff's Department for just a short time.  Prior to his time serving the county, he worked with the Stockbridge Police Department.
