Michigan is well known for a few things; Being the "Great Lakes" state, producing some drool-inducing craft beer, and having some of the most kick-ass sports teams EITHER side of the Mississippi! But this week... there is nothing we can be more famous for, than our cherries. More specifically, our Traverse City cherries!

This week Traverse City is celebrating cherry season with their annual National Cherry Festival. Celebrations kicked off on the fourth and will continue until this upcoming Saturday, with lots of activities planned through the remaining days (85% of those activities are FREE!). Some events of the upcoming days include multiple golf scrambles, kids fun & games, "Cherry Idol Auditions", cherry orchard tours, and many more! There's even going to be live music from The Journey Tribute Band as well as Joan Jett & The Blackhearts... all culminating in a giant fireworks display Saturday night!

If you've ever been to the National Cherry Festival, you know that there is practically no end in sight when it comes to what you can enjoy while you are there. With food, drinks, entertainment, and free & fun activities, this annual festival draws over 500,000 people over the course of eight days.
