A Flint Township Police Officer executing a traffic stop on Friday night wound up in the hospital after the driver he stopped, a 54 year old male, allegedly fired multiple gun shots, striking the officer.  The officer and back up units returned fire, striking the man.

The officer, whose name has not been released, is in stable condition.  The driver is also in stable condition, according to WJRT-TV.

Audio released of the radio transmission between the officer and dispatch is a chilling reminder of the difficult job that not only being a police officer is, but being a dispatcher, as well.
