It's a bird! It's a plane! No... it's a few dozen hot air balloons filling the skies over Howell, Michigan (sorry guys, I couldn't resist)! This weekend Howell is having the Michigan Challenge Balloonfest, and the skies will be filled to the brim with giant, brightly colored balloons. I heard about this from a friend, and at the risk of sounding dorky, this seems like one of the coolest things ever and I simply cannot wait to go!

This Friday, Saturday, and Sunday (26th-28th) is when it all goes down. There will be balloon launchings in the A.M. and in the P.M., as well as a multitude of other fun activities. Including painting classes, live music, BBQ sauce sampling, carnival rides and SO much more. The hot air balloon portion doesn't cost a thing to go and watch, but if you drive down there, you will have to pay for parking. The activities like the painting classes and carnival rides also cost a bit of money. If you want pricing, parking, or activity info, you can find everything HERE.

I can't wait to go this weekend! The Balloonfest sounds like it's a very family friendly event too, with all kinds of fun activities for kids and adults alike! If you've ever been to Balloonfest before, tell me what your favorite part was, I'd love to hear from you! And if you're headed over to Howell this weekend for the exciting festivities, I'll see ya there!
