A CMU senior said in an email sent to 97.5 NOW FM on Tuesday that when she saw the Mikel Knight tour buses and vans on the campus of Central Michigan University, she simply thought it was a band "trying to become big."  But, she says, "this wasn't the case."

The student, who said she's uncomfortable with her name in the media, says members of the Mikel Knight road crew "chased and attacked" two girls that were walking to their cars.  She says the girls are OK, authorities were contacted, and that the students have been warned to be on the lookout because their sales pitch "is in hopes of luring girls in for sex trafficking."  This accusation has been made against the Mikel Knight group by people across the country on numerous occasions, but no related charges have been filed (that we are aware).

The group has had its fair share of legal troubles, however, including Mikel Knight, himself -- real name, Jason Cross, our sister station Big Frog 104 in New York uncovered.  Cross has a long rap sheet dating back to 2006 to as recently as 2014; arrested on assault, harassment and theft, among other things, court records in Nashville show.

Mt. Pleasant's Morning Sun newspaper spoke with Mt. Pleasant Public Information Officer, Jeff Browne, who said the department was considering trespassing charges if the group returns to one of the many places they were kicked out of in the Mt. Pleasant area this week.

“He has, a for a lack of a better word, an entourage that is helping sell the CDs and DVDs being very pushy," Mt. Pleasant PIO Jeff Browne said.  “I’m hoping they’re out of town by tomorrow."

They probably will be -- but they'll be hitting other mid-Michigan communities.  We've compiled a list of reported sightings from just the past few days:
