Chemical Spill On MSU Campus

This report should change through out the rest of the afternoon, but the MSU police are reporting a chemical release at Munn Ice Arena, according to an alert sent out Thursday afternoon.

Apparently the leak is an ammonia leak from the Munn Ice Center. Police ask individuals to avoid the area until further notice and Chestnut Road between Shaw Lane and Dem Hall Road is shut down. The police and fire crew are on the scene and containing and cleaning the leak.

We will have more info when it comes in.

UPDATE 2:26 p.m. – The chemical leak at Munn Ice Arena has been contained. Emergency crews have confirmed leak is from Ammonia & source has been found as well.

UPDATE 4PM - Chemical Leak has been contained and the Munn Ice Arena is cleared. Chestnut is now open to the public
