Where We Found The Paqui One Chip Challenge In East Lansing
I've seen the videos online. And for the longest, these things have been sold out so you couldn't order them from Paqui.
But while grabbing some stuff before the Lion's game on Sunday at Fresh Thyme in East Lansing, I stumbled onto food challenge nirvana or hell depending on your pain threshold.
Ladies and gentlemen behold, The Paqui One Chip Challenge.
Yup. And that's $5.99 for one chip my friends.
And you might be asking yourself, what's up with this challenge and why so much for one chip?
Because that's all you might be able to handle.
Also note, this thing comes with a warning featured prominently on the display.
THE 2020 PAQUI #ONECHIPCHALLENGE IS BACK
This year the #OneChipChallenge is back, with a vengeance. It's our spiciest lineup ever featuring the world's hottest pepper, the Carolina Reaper, along with a NEW one-two punch from Scorpion Pepper and Sichuan Peppercorn. Your taste buds will be begging you to tap out. Do you have what it takes to go head to head with the Reaper? Take the #OneChipChallenge if you dare... (Paqui)
So if you've tried this thing before, they've raised the stakes and changed the ingredients/formula?
The website is selling it for $6.99. At Fresh Thyme it was $5.99.
If you hit up the store locator, there were at least 5 other locations in the Lansing area that were listed (including Rite Aid, Betterhealth, Meijer, & Kroger).
Warning, this is not just a gimmick. These things are legendarily hot. Stupid hot. Heed the warnings and video reactions. I myself love spicy things but I don't think I would try these. I purchased a bag of the Haunted Ghost Pepper ones and they were a little bit of a challenge. They play havoc on the taste buds and the digestive system later on (if you catch my drift...I'm trying to keep it clean here lol).
If you are so bold as to give it a shot, let us know how you faired on social media or hit us up on AppChat inside the 97.5 Now FM app.
Warning...the milk won't help. Neither will the water. You will breathe fire. Do this at your own risk and remember, there's a warning on the display. If you do this, remember you asked for it.
