But in Detroit, I have never been to a place that had a Flint Coney.

And for some strange reason, those of us from the Mitten State swear by our favorite ginger concoction as a cure all for all that ails us.

Olive burgers, Traverse City cherries, QD Chip Dip...the list could go on and on. And it often has.

"Jiffy" Mix is Made In Michigan Proud Since 1930 and beyond

But we seem to "always" forget about the Pride of Chelsea, Michigan that's been around since 1930. Says so right there on the box.

The Chelsea Milling Company however dates all the way back to 1901. So we're talking a long storied history here.

"Jiffy" Mix is sold EVERYWHERE. Cornbread purist will turn their nose up at you if you mention it because they'd rather make their own for scratch.

But for the rest of us, this Michigan staple has been around long enough and stood the test of time. You don't even have to be kitchen aficionado to be able to throw together a pan of cornbread or tin of muffins. All you have to do is add egg and milk and boom...cornbread. You've probably got a box in your pantry right now.
