We've received word of a water main break at St. Joe and Michigan Avenue, which is complicating an already tricky commute for motorists dealing with a steady downpour that hit Lansing at around noon on Monday.

Ingham County Homeland Security and Emergency Management posted a tweet shortly after noon that said more than 2 inches of rain had fallen within the previous hour in some parts of the county.

The agency also tweeted at 12:30pm that I-96 at Okemos Road was flooded and that Okemos, Williamston and East Holt were experiencing a "torrential downpour."

Showers and thunderstorms are in the forecast for the day, with skies clearing into the evening hours.
