Warning: Popular Snack in Michigan Being Recalled
I'm sad to let you know that a popular candy here in Michigan is currently under recall, which has me really upset considering we are going into the New Year, and let's be real, we are going to fail our resolutions.
Take a look at the candy recall.
Warning: Popular Snack in Michigan Being Recalled
Heads up, candy lovers!
Gardners Candies of Tyrone, PA, has issued a recall on their 1.25-ounce packages of Cappuccino Meltaway® Bars because they might contain undeclared cashews.
Yep, that means tree nuts—sneaky little allergens that can spell serious trouble for anyone with nut allergies.
These bars, known for their creamy, dreamy cappuccino flavor, were sold all across the country starting September 1, 2024.
They’ve been hanging out in retail stores and also showing up on doorsteps through GardnersCandies.com.
If you’ve got one of these bars—or snagged a holiday Meltaway Treat Box with lot numbers #101625 or #112525—double-check the lot number on the side of the package (look for #082725) and the expiration date of August 27, 2025.
Now, let’s get real for a second: no one’s gotten sick so far, and we’re all thankful for that. But Gardners figured out there was a hiccup in their production line, and some cashew-laced bars didn’t get properly labeled. They’ve hit pause on making these treats until they’ve fixed the issue.
If you’ve got one of these recalled bars (or a box with them in it), don’t risk it. Gardners is offering replacements. You can give them a call at 1-800-242-2639 Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM (ET). Play it safe, folks—especially if you’ve got a nut allergy in the house. No candy bar is worth a trip to the ER!
