Warning: Popular Produce Recall Hitting Michigan
Heads up for anyone who shops at Kroger—Supreme Service Solutions LLC (also known as Supreme Produce) is helping with a recall on some cut produce items that were purchased from Weirs Farm Inc. and sold at Kroger stores.
The issue?
Possible contamination with Listeria monocytogenes, a bacteria that can cause some pretty serious health problems, especially for young children, the elderly, and those with weakened immune systems.
Even if you're healthy, Listeria can still hit hard with symptoms like fever, headaches, nausea, and diarrhea. And for pregnant women, it’s especially concerning because it can lead to miscarriages or stillbirths.
Where The Recall Is At
The recalled items were sold at Kroger stores in Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Missouri, and Ohio, and they were packaged in clear, grab-and-go containers.
Some of the products on the recall list include Pico/Guac combos, diced peppers, butternut squash cubes, guacamole, and more. These items had best-by dates ranging from early to late July 2024.
