
Major Michigan Employer Getting Ready To Layoff Hundreds
Jobs are getting harder and harder to find now-a-days. Once you're out of the job market too, finding a brand new job can be a daunting task. Companies across the state of Michigan have announced lay-offs, due to higher increases in products among other things.

Walmart, a massive retail chain, with many locations here in the state of Michigan, just announced it had plans to drop a least 1,500 employees across the board, in a restructuring initiative.
Walmart Announces Massive Layoffs
At the corporate level, employees could be at risk of losing their job. The lay offs will affect the Global Tech Division, Walmart Connect, and it's advertising business.
The CEO of Walmart, John Furner, and Global CTO Suresh Kumar, said the structure is in an attempt to remove layers of complexity within the company. Not every position is set to be eliminated either, some may just be aligned into new roles to better service the companies needs.

The changes to the company are in part to broader economic pressures that the company is facing in the trade tariffs. Walmart announced earlier in the year, that they would raise prices on certain products, due to some of the tariffs affecting the company.
Walmart has reported a 2.5% increase in their year-over-year revenue. The company said the job cuts, however, are not directly linked to the tariff-related pressures, but are in part so the company can rapidly evolve in the ever evolving retail world.
