MICHIGAN: The USPS Is Asking You To Do This To Your Mailbox
In case you weren't aware, last week was mailbox improvement week across the country, which is every third week in May. The purpose was to clean up the area and inside your mailbox to make it easier on delivery drivers.
With that, the United States Postal Service (USPS) is now asking residents here in Michigan to do something else. Something that is not regular and is a new request.
Michigan USPS Asking This Of Residents Across The State
As I think we are all brutally aware, since the COVID-19 Pandemic, we haven't been able to get things across the board like we used to. While, Amazon has had success in overnight deliveries, that doesn't guarantee it on everything.
In fact, a lot of people, businesses and products are experiencing the back log on orders still, four years after the pandemic took place.
Now, the United States Postal Service, is asking Michigan residents to look into buying bigger mailboxes.
Why The USPS Is Asking this of Michigan Residents
While it seems crazy, the United States Postal Service, has been delivering more packages in recent years, instead of just mail and postage. With that, it's caused a bit of a traffic jam for packages, letters and other mail you may receive.
While, you may be going, why should I do this... a larger mailbox would eliminate leaving packages unattended on your porch, and rather inside your mailbox. Porch pirates have become a very common occurrence in the world, and the USPS is attempting to combat that.
The USPS, however, isn't demanding an upgrade, just suggesting it for customers.
