Something big could be happening above a U.S. city tonight and it has to do with two dead satellites and a potential crash between them. According to MLive, both are currently in low Earth orbit and could collide at 6:39 PM on Wednesday, Jan. 29 when they come within 13 to 87 meters of each other above Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, at nearly 33,000 miles per hour. Now the odds of them crashing aren't very high, 1 in 1,000, but if they do then it could pose a threat to other satellites in space with debris that could be spread from the crash.

We probably won't be able to see anything in Michigan, but these satellites getting close doesn't usually happen so it is something interesting that is happening in the sky tonight. You can learn more about the satellites below.
