If you are traveling this weekend you might want to leave a little early because there are going to be two big highway closures.

First, according to WILX and MDOT, there will be a closing of both lanes of a long stretch of the I-96 during April 26 - 28. The stretch of highway runs through Eagle and Portland and will be closed from Friday night through Sunday. The reason for the closure is due to MDOT removing the Cutler Road overpass bridge. There will be a detour so you won't be stuck, as the detour will be M-66 South to M-43 through Grand Ledge and Delta Township.

Next, this closure should be a little less disruptive as starting Sunday morning, lane closures will be happening on US-127 near M-21 in the Saint Johns area for concrete patching. There will be delays but not much as there will be on lane open for drivers to go through, more here.
