The Greater Lansing Area Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday Commission is pleased to announce their 33rd annual LuncheonMonday, January 15th, 2018, 11:00 a.m. at the Lansing Center with special guest speaker Dr. Diane Nash – activist, lecturer and businesswoman.

Banks

Capitol National Bank, CASE Credit Union, Comerica Bank, Fifth Third Bank, LAFCU, MSU Federal Credit Union and PNC Bank.

Check with individual financial institutions in your area for their specific hours and closures.

CATA

In support of the various Martin Luther King Day celebrations taking place throughout the community, all CATA services will operate as usual on Jan. 15 with the exception of Route 26 Abbot/Chandler.

Route 26 Abbot/Chandler-Buses will follow the Saturday Spartan Service schedule with departures every 40 minutes from 9:30 a.m. until 11:10 p.m.

Postal service

There will be no mail delivery on MLK Day and post offices are closed.

Trash/Recycling

Lansing: The Capital Area Recycling & Trash office will be closed. Curbside collections will be delayed by one day throughout the week.

East Lansing: The Department of Public Works will be closed. No bulk item collection.

Libraries

Capital Area District Libraries (all branches): Closed Jan. 15.

Delta Township District Library: Closed Jan. 13-15.

East Lansing Public Library: Closed Jan. 15.

Michigan Lottery

The Michigan Lottery headquarters in Lansing will be closed on Monday. All regularly scheduled drawings will take place on Monday.

The bank claim centers that the Michigan Lottery has teamed up with may have office hours on Monday, however, they won’t be able to process claims, because the lottery offices will be closed.

All lottery offices will reopen on Tuesday at 7:45 a.m.

Government

The Secretary of State and state courts will be closed.

City of East Lansing offices and facilities, with the exception of the East Lansing Hannah Community Center, will be closed Jan. 15. Offices and facilities that will be closed include East Lansing City Hall, the East Lansing 54B District Court, the East Lansing Department of Public Works, the East Lansing Public Library and East Lansing Prime Time. The East Lansing Hannah Community Center will be open during regular hours.00
