Michigan Parents Should Check These Target Baby Wipes Now
If you have little ones at home, this is one of those recalls that you will want to check on, especially if you've made a trip to Target recently.
Target Baby Wipes Included In The Recall
Target has just recently issued a voluntary recall for certain Up & Up baby wipes because of possible microbial contamination. According to the FDA, testing found Burkholderia cepacia complex and Burkholderia gladioli in some product samples.
It is a huge mouthful, but the reason behind the recall is important. These wipes are used on babies, infants, and young kids. The FDA says those groups can be more vulnerable because their immune systems are still developing.
What Date Codes Should Parents Check?
The recall includes Up & Up Fragrance Free Baby Wipes in 20, 72, 216, 800, and 1200-count packages. These wipes will have a manufacturing date code from November 7, 2025, through May 5, 2026. The expiration dates run from May 10, 2028, through November 5, 2028.
It also includes Up & Up Fresh Cucumber Scented Baby Wipes in 72, 216, and 800-count packages. For the fresh cucumber wipes, the manufacturing codes are December 29, 2025, through December 30, 2025. Those expiration dates run from June 29, 2028, through June 30, 2028.
What Target Shoppers Should Do Next
Target says the wipes were sold at Target stores nationwide, as well as online at Target.com. The company says it has received complaints involving discoloration and reports of skin irritation, eye irritation, and infections. Those reports are being looked at.
If you have the recalled wipes at home, you should stop using them immediately. You can return them to any Target store for a full refund. You can also call Target Guest Relations for more information.
