I unfortunately could do some damage in a Target store. It's not that I truly need anything from Target, but I still end up coming out and spending over $100. Useless, sometimes, but how can you not?

But with that being said, have you noticed this new trend at Target locations across Michigan? It's honestly got me in a weird place because as a former retail employee, I understand it. But, as a customer, I also am frustrated.

Target Just Made This A Rule At All Michigan Locations

Target has been testing out something new at its self-checkouts. They're limiting the amount of items you can take to a self-checkout lane now. Many stores are doing this nowadays. Even removing self-checkouts altogether.

Why?

Unfortunately, its the same thing. All it takes is one person to ruin the fun for everyone. Target is stepping up to prevent theft at self-checkouts. Dollar General is in the process of removing all self-checkout areas from stores across the nation, for the same exact reason.

Target is limiting the amount at self-checkout lanes to 10 items or less. Many stores have similar (like Meijer), however, those seem to be disappearing to an unlimited amount of items. But, with that being said, those machines won't lock up either if you have 10 or more items.

They will still allow you to scan what you need. In the grand scheme, those with one or two items will probably give you a glare if you go ahead and try to do more than the suggested 10.

How do you feel about these changes?
