Mosquitoes

Summer is finally making it's arrival, and along with the warm temps and fun in the sun comes those tiny, little, pesky, intruders of the season.....mosquitoes. When it comes to mosquitoes, Michigan seems to be bombarded with them when summer arrives...

We're not talking about stink bugs today, no matter how annoying they may be. I think it's time we discuss some of Michigan's more dangerous critters.

The modified mosquitoes will only be male since female mosquitoes are the only ones who bite humans and animals.

More rain this week equals more bugs this weekend. Puddles of water are breeding grounds for more mosquitoes. It only takes a few days for the mosquito eggs to hatch and they'll be on the hunt looking for an easy meal. I was surprised to learn that after hatching their lifespan is only up to seven days...

The worst part of summer has arrived.

We've had a pretty decent amount of rain the past couple of weeks. Does that mean we're in for an even worse mosquito season in Michigan?
