Recall Alert: Taco Kits Recalled in Michigan After
If you were planning on having Tacos on Tuesday night, you may want to put a pause on that, especially here in the state of Michigan. A couple of taco dinner kits just got pulled because some of the boxes ended up with a hot cocoa mix in place of the taco seasoning.
What’s Being Recalled
Cocoa packets where the spice should be... that feels like a new one, and could be funny, but in this economy, there's no true joke in wasted meat. Plus, cocoa does contain milk, and milk isn't directly listed on the box, which could cause some issues for those who are allergic to dairy products.
How to Check Your Box
If you are wondering if you are currently effected by the recall, there are a couple of things to watch for.
- Casa Mamita Soft Taco Dinner Kit (sold at ALDI) Best By 03/15/2026
- Crunchy Taco Dinner Kit - Labeled Martin's or Giant - which is best by 03/13/2026
What To Do Next
If your box matches what was sold in stores, you should just simply remove it from your cupboards, or even just go and return it to the store for a full refund. At this time, there have been no illnesses linked back to this current recall, but for those of you with a sensitive gut, you may want to avoid taking the risk.
There were some complaints that came into the company, traced to a supplier mix-up, who put the cocoa packets into some of these kits. Unless you want chocolate tacos, this may not be fore you.
