UPDATE: Shooter identified as James T. Hodgkinson, 66, of Belleville Illinois. Hodgkinson has vocally opposed Donald Trump on social media, ABC News reports.

UPDATE: During press conference Alexandria Police Chief, Capitol Police Chief and FBI say the city is safe and this is not an active incident.
Alexandria Fire and Police provided treatment to a number of people, 5 were transported to hospital for a variety of injuries. FBI will take over investigation because incident involves assault on a Federal officer.
Tim Slater, SAE FBI, said "Too early to say" whether there is a terror connection and whether this was a targeted attack.

Representative Steve Scalise is among a reported five injured at a baseball practice involving Republican members of Congress, according to reports. Five people are said to have been injured at a Virginia park by a man that opened fire. Multiple reports indicate more than 50 shots were fired. The latest reports indicate that the shooter is in custody. Information about the extent of injuries is unknown.
