This is probably going to be the most significant amount of snow that Michigan has seen this winter. The Nation Weather Service has already put not only Mid-Michigan but most of the mitten under a Winter Storm Advisory in effect from Thursday at 9p through Saturday morning.

The NWS is also calling for anywhere between 8 to 12 inches by day's end in parts of southwestern Michigan including Berrien, St. Joseph and Cass counties. In Kalamazoo and Jackson counties there could be between 6 to 10 inches. And in Ingham County and north of Lansing we could be seeing 4-6 inches with the more north you go of Lansing the less snow you will see.

Expect the snow to start late tonight, around midnight, and continue throughout Friday ending around dinner time Friday. You can see more about what forecasters are saying about the storm here.
