Solar Powered Carports Coming to Michigan State

With Earth Day just passing Michigan State is thinking about saving energy and money with installing new solar powered carports. The covered parking is being installed now and will be going on through the summer.

A few of the lots have been already blocked off as construction has started but lots 83, 89, 91, 92 and 100 will all receive solar panels.

The carports will save Michigan State about $10 million over 25 years. The money that is saved on these carports will lessen the cost of tuition and help the university be more energy efficent. The read more about it the State News has more here.
