Michigan Recall Alert: Check This So Delicious Pint in Your Freezer
Before you dig into that pint of ice cream in your freezer, do a quick label check. A nationwide recall that includes Michigan is targeting a specific So Delicious Dairy Free frozen dessert after a contamination issue tied to the cashews mixed into it.
What’s happening and why it matters
The United States Food and Drug Administration says the problem isn’t a flavor complaint or an allergy mix-up. It’s foreign material. Some pints of ice cream may contain small stones or other hard objects that were accidentally introduced with the cashew inclusions.
The risk: small stones and potential injuries
Biting down on that can mean a cracked tooth, a mouth injury, or a choking hazard. It’s not really one of those recalls you can just brush off.
Product details to match in your freezer
The company, Danone U.S., is voluntarily pulling the impacted product from store shelves, including retailers here in Michigan. The recall is limited to So Delicious Dairy Free Salted Caramel Cluster Non-Dairy Frozen Dessert in 1-pint containers. Look for SKU 136603 and UPC 74473476138.
The best-by date to watch for on this recall is August 8, 2027.
The tricky part is your carton may not look exactly like someone else’s. Danone says the packaging graphics were updated in February 2025, but the UPC stays the same, so use that number as your easiest match.
What to do if you have it
If any of that information matches the identifiers, do not eat it. You should reach out to So Delicious Dairy Free Consumer Care for a refund or replacement at 1-833-367-8975. If you served it at a holiday get-together, it is worth giving your friends and family a heads-up as well.
Check your freezer, and keep your teeth and stomach safe. That dentist bill will be expensive.
