A Wednesday night traffic stop for a tinted window violation turned into a police chase involving helicopters, K-9s and several departments in Genesee County, followed by a crash, followed by a foot chase, followed by several other surprises, Durand Now reports.

When the suspect vehicle left the road and struck trees just minutes after the chase began in the Village of Lennon, two of the five people in the car fled on foot.

Along with two teens in the back seat was an 18 month old baby that was restrained improperly.  It turns out that one of those teens had a warrant out.

Meanwhile, one of the two people that fled came back to turn herself in.  That's when police discovered she was reported as a runaway from Holland last October.

Drugs and drug paraphernalia were found in the car -- authorities suspect someone in the vehicle was in the business of selling.

While the driver did get away, Lennon Police Chief Rich Folaron said the driver's identity is known; "we'll get him."
