Shawn Mendes and Khalid might not even be able to legally drink yet (or for the next few years, for that matter) but both crooners are two of the biggest stars in Generation Z right now, and on Tuesday (May 1), Mendes announced he'll be releasing a single with the "Young, Dumb & Broke" singer later this week. The track is aptly titled "Youth."

The pop star went to Twitter to share the news, posting a quote of what can be assumed is lyrics to the song: "You can't take my youth away." The single is set to drop at 12pm EST on Thursday, May 3.

Last week, Mendes announced the title and release date of his third studio album after keeping his fans guessing with a mysterious live streamShawn Mendes: The Album is slated for a May 25 release and will include "Youth," along with "Like To Be You," featuring Julia Michaels and his two previously released singles: "In My Blood," and "Lost In Japan."

This album follows the release of 2016's Illuminate, which reached No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart.

It was recently announced that Mendes would perform at the 2018 Billboard Music Awards. The show will also feature performances by Camila Cabello, Dua Lipa and South Korean boy band BTS.
