Several Michigan Beaches Forced to Close Due to High Bacteria Levels [PHOTOS]
If your July 4th holiday weekend plans include swimming, you'll need to make sure your destination will be open.
As of today (7/2), 11 Michigan beaches have been flagged by the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality because of high bacteria levels. Most of these closures are due to excessive stormwater runoff caused by heavy rain over the last week.
Check the list before you head out.
