Red Cross To Cut 200 Jobs & Mobile Blood Drive
The American Red Cross in Michigan said this week that they are ending operations of their mobile blood drive in our area. Along with the cut to these mobile blood drives they are also cutting a few hundred jobs.
According to WILX-TV, the cut of mobile blood drives in our area also means that there will be a cut of 200 jobs to the American Red Cross employees in Michigan. The locations of these job cuts are here in Lansing, Grand Rapids, Flint, Kalamazoo, Petoskey and Muskegon. The job losses won't happen immediately but will be taking place later on this year.
The American Red Cross said they are cutting this operation and jobs to consolidate and to be more cost effective. Also the need for blood isn't that great right now so cosolidating makes sense for them but it don't help or make the employees happy. You can see more about here from WILX.
