Recipe for Chocolate Pudding Made with… Avocados?!?! #FitFriday
Okay, this is crazy. I know. It sounds absolutely INSANE even! WHY would you mix CHOCOLATE and Avocados?!?! Well I decided to put an avocado in the chocolate 'smoothie' I was making the other day and what happened is miraculous... it made CHOCOLATE PUDDING! The avocado gives it just the right consistency to make it like a pudding and didn't give it some weird flavor at all. It was pure chocolate heaven. The best part? It's absolutely vegan and HEALTHY for you! There are a ton of chocolate pudding recipes online to make with avocados so you can sort of just tweak it to your own taste, the basics are really avocado, milk (or milk substitute) and cacao powder. Here's mine:
- 1 avocado
- 1 banana
- 5 cherries (pitted)
- a spoon full of cacao powder
- a half a scoop of chocolate whey protein (optional but this is what sweetened my smoothie instead of leaving just the bitter cacao taste)
- Almond milk (ad to you get desired consistency) - also the 'pudding' will get a little thicker as it sits in the fridge, so it's okay to make it a little thinner than desired.
Mix it all in the blender and you're good to go! I chilled mine, but eat it however you'd like and enjoy! Have any more awesome fit recipes? Send them my way and I'll post them!
