Power Outages Happening Across Lansing-Area Now

Multiple power outages are happening in Lansing and East Lansing.

The cause and reach of the outage are not yet known. The Lansing BWL website is down as well. Posts on the BWL Facebook page report outages in Lansing's westside, Washington Square downtown, Baker Street and the Colonial Village neighborhood. East Lansing police say there are outages there as well.

Update: The Lansing Board of Water and Light posted the following message to their Facebook page at 12:38 PM.

"The Eckert Substation tripped offline, resulting in a power outage for approximately 25,000 BWL customers in the downtown Lansing area. Crews are working to restore power, expected within 2 hours. Motorists should treat intersections with traffic signals as a 4-way stop. We apologize for any inconvenience this outage has caused."
