I'm not a doctor or a scientist.

I'm a normal dude, keeping my eye on the pandemic, wearing my mask, and trying not to catch this thing.

There is a lot of information and misinformation. The landscape keeps changing. And for that reason, I understand why a lot of folks have doubts.

At first the government said this. Then they said that. The experts said this. Then they said that.

This drug works. No it doesn't. The President is taking it. He isn't wearing a mask. Now he is wearing a mask.

Open up the states because the numbers are down. But don't reopen them too fast. Ope, we opened them too fast and now the numbers are up.

We can't trust the numbers. There's no way they can always be that high. I don't know anyone that's got it. OK now the numbers are plateauing.

This thing started in what, December of 2019? We started doing stuff in March of 2020? It's near the end of July and we're already talking about pharmaceutical companies in phase 3 clinical trials for a vaccine?

A Phase 3 clinical trial designed to evaluate if an investigational vaccine can prevent symptomatic coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in adults has begun. The vaccine, known as mRNA-1273, was co-developed by the Cambridge, Massachusetts-based biotechnology company Moderna, Inc., and the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), part of the National Institutes of Health. The trial, which will be conducted at U.S. clinical research sites, is expected to enroll approximately 30,000 adult volunteers who do not have COVID-19. (NIH)

Sorry. That was pretty quick. And 30,000 volunteers? If all this goes well, when's it going to be ready?

White House coronavirus advisor Dr. Anthony Fauci said later Monday that November would likely be the earliest time frame to know if Moderna’s coronavirus vaccine works. (CNBC)

Fauci made the remarks ahead of next week's launch of an unprecedented effort by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to find a vaccine, dubbed "Operation Warp Speed." The operation aims to deliver 300 million doses of a COVID-19 vaccine by January 2021. (WTOC)

Operation Warp Speed indeed. So again look at the timeline. We're moving pretty fast in my estimation. And according to poll numbers, some folks aren't necessarily ready to take a vaccine made this quickly.

A Pew Research Center survey in late April and early May found 31 percent of adults who are millennials or younger say they probably or definitely will not get vaccinated, far higher than the 20 percent of baby boomers and 27 percent of Americans of all ages who are leaning against getting the vaccine. Honestly, I know folks that wouldn't take a flu shot. Now we have this thing that has been developed and set for clinical trials to wrap in November and have it possibly ready for the public by January of next year. When things will just be turning a year old as it pertains to Covid-19.

I'm super skeptical and don't trust it. I'd have to see if it works on others first. I'm worried about the "side effects may include" portion of this.

But, it's not about us. We want to know what you think and which (if any shots) you'd be willing to take?
