Although it's only mid August, summer is coming to an end soon. Take advantage of the daylight and warmer temperatures while you still can.

Michigan is loaded with amazing views. Often times I have thought I needed to be deep into the U.P. or on a Great Lake to enjoy some amazing views. I was lying to myself. There are great views all over the state and we have some cool views right here in mid Michigan.

Some of the parks and trails throughout our area are loaded with nature, water and amazing views. I have been exploring the mid Michigan area a lot the past few years and visited parks that are relaxing and that have some cool views. I find serenity at a lot of these locations. Walking a trail in a park one day can give you eye candy, and the following day, the trail could change based on "nature" and the view itself can change too. That's the beauty of the outdoors, it is always changing.

Our family loves hiking on trails and taking walks. I was never a "walk" guy until we had this pandemic thing happen. It forced me out of my comfort zone to get out and be active outdoors. That's the bittersweet take away for me over the past few years. Checking out some amazing "nature" and being active is a win, win for me. Perhaps it could be a win, win for you too. Check out the list below, according to google, to see the best views in mid Michigan.

What a hidden jewel! Love this place! Bike trails, hiking, splash pad that makes pretty much any place in Florida look bad, life guards, volleyball, huge playground, conoes, pay by the car load! Sooo very much worth it!

Adado Riverfront Park - 201 E Shiawassee St, Lansing, MI 48933

Bill says:

A small park along the river with a good size grass field, a couple of park benches and a sculpture. I've seen people walk in here. Sit to enjoy the view of the river, flying a kite or spread out a blanket and enjoy the day. This park has a porta potty which is not something easy to find along the river on either side. The porta potty is what makes it a definite five star.

Such a beautiful rose/flower garden!! Great place for events. Has a pavilion. Nice 0.9 mile paved trail loop. Well maintained and clean. There's a playground for the kiddos. River outlook. Great place to take pictures! Would definitely recommend stopping!

Brenke Fish Ladder - 216 E Grand River Ave, Lansing, MI 48906

Bex says:

My kids and their friends always enjoy starting our river trail walk at the fish ladder. The parking lot is well lit, has free parking, and there are some rad metal sculptures and painted murals nearby. Old town is so charming, and the fish ladder itself is a fun place for the kids to explore, and a great place to take some artsy pictures as well!

It's nice to see that folks are being more responsible as of late with their trash, and disposing of it properly; the area is really beautiful when there aren't half eaten picnics hanging around! :) there are also some mature trees and benches perfect for a quick bite before your stroll.

Hawk Meadow Park - 6160 Delta River Dr, Lansing, MI 48906

Ericka says:

I love going here with the family. Pretty secluded. Well maintained and kept clean. A few paved Loop Trails but then some grass trails that come off of those. Pretty scenery. Not too busy. My daughter loves to bring her scooter out here
