The major road construction that has been underway for the last few weeks on Okemos Road at Jolly Road is about to get a little more messy. I live in Okemos, right past where the construction is happening, so I have been avoiding it all month going on Grand River instead of Jolly.

If you haven't started to avoid this intersection or can't, you may want to today as Jolly Road just east of the intersection with Okemos Road will be closed. The Ingham County Road Department says officials will be completely closing Jolly Road  just east of Ambassador Drive for installation of a new culvert. The closure is expected to start in the morning and they say that local access will be restored by the end of day (Thursday, April 19th) If you didn't know, Ambassador Drive is east of Dobie Road.

Unfortunately, the road construction, which is much needed in that area, will be continuing throughout the summer. The project is expected to finish up around Labor Day so this summer should be fun, not, getting around that area.
