I'm a big brunch kind of gal. Whenever anyone asks me if I want to do brunch, I'm like "Do you really need to ask me that? Of course I'm in." Especially if Bloody Marys are involved.

There's a new brunch spot that just opened in East Lansing. You may be familiar with the former 'For Crêpe Sake' that was located on South Washington Square in Lansing. It closed indefinitely on April 3, but Gina and Mike Mudrey have opened a second location in East Lansing.

The Mudrey's originally leased the space on M. A. C. Avenue last February but due to the pandemic and banning of dine-in services, opening was postponed. Things may have taken a little longer than expected, but For Crêpe Sake is now open.

The Mudrey's reside in East Lansing and met at Michigan State University. Mike Mudrey told the Lansing State Journal that they're excited to be close to home.

There's so much excitement for us, in not only being in her hometown but also being a block from Michigan State’s campus.

If you were a fan of the former For Crêpe Sake location, the menu will include some old favorites, but several new items. New to their menu are Belgian waffles topped with things like caramel, Nutella and vanilla ice cream.

The idea to add waffles to the menu came from the Brown Butter Crêperie + Cafe. The  Mudreys purchased the Grand Rapids cafe last year.

For Crêpe Sake is located at 211 M. A. C. Ave., and open Tuesday through Sunday. You can view their menu here.
