The Michigan high school football season has just started but now there will more fans in the stands for the rest of the games. The new order from Michigan governor Gretchen Whitmer, and the new rule will allow upwards of 1,000 fans in the stands for some outdoor games and up to 300 for some indoor events. The previous weeks outdoor games were only allowing 2 fans per athlete so this will allow for more family and friends to attend.

If you are attending games in the future you will still have to wear a mask and stay socially distanced. It will be interesting to see how long these new rules stay because as it gets colder these rules could change and less people could be allowed again.

More fans being allowed at games will also help schools and sports programs as ticket sales help to support them. I have not been to a high school football game this year in Michigan, like most people, but I have driven by some games and have seen people socially distance and even some watching the game from their car. I advocate watching a game from your car if you can because you can stay warm, and be more comfortable, but not all stadiums and fields allow this.

You can see more about the new rules here.
