Life is just a bowl of cherries, right? Not in Traverse City, today. The National Cherry Festival has been canceled. Done in by COVID-19. The National Cherry Queen now sits atop what will be an empty throne in July. Yes, it's the pits. (I could go on, but let's get to the breaking news at hand)

The festival, scheduled for July 4 -11, was going to feature the return of the U.S. Navy Blue Angels on July 4th and 5th. According to MLive.com, also scheduled to perform was REO Speedwagon on July 8th and both Collective Soul and Everclear on July 11th.

The official website, cherryfestival.org, says the festival is postponed. However, it has officially been canceled. The dates of the festival for next year will be July 3 - 10, 2021.
