Michigan To No Longer Ban Dog Breeds
The Michigan Senate just voted down a law that bans certain dog breeds in the state, allowing people to own whatever dog breed they want.
The Senate voted 22-13 to prohibit local governments from making breed-specific regulations on dogs. This will be helpful for certain dog owners in the state that own Pitbulls, Rottweilers, German Shepherds and other dog breeds which are perceived to be dangerous or violent. In addition, there are about 30 of Michigan’s local governments have some form of breed-specific regulation.
The bill now goes to Michigan House for a final vote before it can be a law.
