Gallagher, who performed Andrea Bocelli’s “Time To Say Goodbye” last week and blew judge Kelly Clarkson away, was just about to learn how he did with America’s vote after performing in the Four-Way Knockout round when host Carson Daly made the announcement he was no longer part of the show.

Daly made the announcement saying,

“Last week, one artist from each team competed in a heated Four-Way Knockout. Will Team Blake’s Taryn Papa, Team Legend’s Julia Cooper and Team Gwen’s Larriah Jackson all join me now? As a side note, Team Kelly’s Ryan Gallagher had to exit the competition so the Four-Way winner was decided with the votes received from these three remaining artists.”

No other explanation was given leaving fans of the 32 year old singer questioning whether or not it could be a family emergency.  Gallagher was very open with the fact that his mother was battling COVID-19 and currently in the hospital. The singer took to  social media after his exit letting everyone know that in fact his family was well and fine, and it had nothing to do with them and that he would fill in the blanks later.

On Tuesday Entertainment Tonight was able to confirm that in fact the reason for Gallagher's exit has to do with a violation of Covid protocol on the show.  According to ET, it was for that reason Gallagher was not allowed to continue in the competition out of concern for keeping the coaches, crew and fellow competitors safe.

Gallagher has yet to comment in detail on the abrupt end to his run on the popular NBC show.
