Michigan State basketball has picked a highly sought-after prospect.

On Monday, shooting guard Josh Langford, of Madison, Ala., verbally committed to Tom Izzo and MSU, 247Sports reports. The news came after Langford took an official visit to the East Lansing campus last week.

The 6-foot-6, 200-pounder is a consensus 5 star recruit among the various recruiting publications. He is also considered one of the top 20 players in the nation.

Langford chose MSU over offers from Arizona, Duke, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan and others. He is the Spartans' second commit for 2016, a class that 247Sports currently rates as second-best in the country.
