To keep up with the ever-evolving world and landscape, Sam's Club — which is owned by Walmart — just announced some changes to their self-checkout experience. As someone who knows how shoppers think and act, this may turn away many of their older clientele.
Major Changes Coming to Self-Checkouts At Michigan Sams Clubs
Sam's Club has 600 stores here in the United States, with multiple locations here in the state of Michigan.
A new Sam's store down in Grapevine, Texas just changed the way it handled its customers when it came to check-out... in fact, there is not a single register in the entire building.

In the new stores, Sam's Club plans to ditch the check-out lanes, instead having you scan as you go with your phone. With the use of some digital AI technologies as well, it will be able to accurately figure out if you're paying for everything in your cart.
Sam's Club also will be focusing a lot more on its online shopping experience as well as its curbside delivery.
