Two Food Recalls Hit Products Sold At Major Michigan Stores
It may be time for you to check your freezer or pantry if you've made a run to the store recently here in Michigan.
There are two food recalls that Michigan shoppers should know about, especially if you shop at places like Costco, Walmart, Kroger, Target, or Meijer.
Two Food Recalls Michigan Shoppers Should Know About
According to the FDA, Bazzini has issued a voluntary recall for certain SkinnyDipped Dark Chocolate Coconut Almond Bites because they may accidentally contain peanut butter. That is a big problem for those who may have a peanut allergy.
The recall happened after a consumer reportedly found peanut butter products inside individual wrappers. The recalled products were distributed nationwide through retail stores, so Michigan shoppers could have them in their homes.
SkinnyDipped Almond Bites Recalled Over Peanut Allergy Risk
The affected products include several sizes of SkinnyDipped Dark Chocolate Coconut Almond Bites, including 10-count, 6-count, 50-count, 24-count, 20-count Easter packages, and 4-pack packages. It also includes a SkinnyDipped Dark Chocolate Coconut Almond Bites and Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter 32-count shipper pack.
Motor City Pizza Co. Product Recalled Over Salmonella Concern
The other recall involves a frozen pizza product from Motor City Pizza Co. 5 Cheese Bread from Champion Foods.
The company has said that certain batches may contain milk powder that was part of another recall tied to a possible Salmonella contamination risk. That milk powder came from California Dairies, Inc., and has been linked back to other product recalls.
Stores Where These Recalled Products Were Sold
The Motor City Pizza Co. recall matters because the product was sold nationwide at several stores, including Costco, Walmart, Kroger, Target, and Meijer.
If you have either of these products at home, do not eat them. You should check the recall details and follow the company's refund or disposal instructions.
