Consider it a good news/bad new scenario.

First, the perceived bad new. The Governor has signed a new executive order closing indoor service at bars in lower Michigan. We'll get to the U.P. & northern Michigan in a second.

“Following recent outbreaks tied to bars, I am taking this action today to slow the spread of the virus and keep people safe. If we want to be in a strong position to reopen schools for in-person classroom instruction this fall, then we need to take aggressive action right now to ensure we don’t wipe out all the progress we have made.”Governor Whitmer (Michigan.gov)

Recent outbreaks tied to bars...we're looking at you Harper's East Lansing.

And this order effects the Lower Peninsula. The U.P. & Northern Michigan are excluded because they are keeping their numbers in check and following the rules. We should follow their example. They appear to be doing it right.

And in that same breath, now comes the good news.

The U.P. gets a pass AND we now get COCKTAILS-TO-GO!

...the Upper Peninsula and much of northern Michigan, are excluded from the order, and bars statewide can continue to serve outdoors. The governor also signed a package of bills allowing cocktails-to-go at bars and restaurants to help these businesses serve more Michiganders during this time. (Michigan.gov)

Outdoor seating is fine, cocktails to go is a go, this does not appear to effect restaurants, please practice your social distancing, and wear a face mask.

Now, here's a couple of places you can go fill your growler (at some of your favorite eateries and then some). Some deliver. Please visit their websites and call for details to make sure their menus and options are up to date in light of new mandates and Covid-19.

Chances are if your favorite eatery has craft beers they do growlers so check with them. We have a short list below.

Also, with cocktails to go and beer delivery, we want to please remind to you celebrate responsibly and NEVER DRINK AND DRIVE.

Pizza House East Lansing (delivery and over 20 Michigan craft beers)

Lansing Brewing Company (most 64 oz growlers are $14 - $16)
