Several Comedians and Superman All Have Michigan Roots

If I mention Michigan celebrities, you probably think Kid Rock or Eminem. You wouldn't be wrong, but you might not know about a few others. A couple grew up not too far from here, actually. In fact, Michigan has a pretty good crop of famous faces.

Who doesn't love Full House. Who doesn't love Uncle Joey? Dave Coulier is from St. Claire Shores and still spends a lot of time in the Detroit area. He has also made a pretty good career out of doing clean comedy.

24 was quite possibly one of the best shows from the early 2000s. Jack Bauer saves the country over the course of multiple seasons. He didn't do it alone. His girl in the chair was Chloe and she has Michigan roots too. Mary Lynn Rajskub was born in the D.

If you have seen Toy Story 4, then you have heard Keegan Michael Key's voice. Before he got all famous and stuff, he went to school in Royal Oak.

Dax Shepard and Kristen Bell have been a couple for a while. Catchy commercials, several movies, and she was Veronica Mars. Both of them were born in Michigan. Kristen grew up in Huntington Woods and also went to Catholic school in Royal Oak. Dax grew up in the same spot as my girlfriend, which is Milford. If you have never been, it's a pretty cool little town near Commerce Township.

Before Terry Crews was spending time with Simon Cowell on America's Got Talent, he played in the NFL. The Philadelphia Eagles to be exact. He called it a career in 1997 and went on to pursue that Hollywood life, but it all started in Flint.

Transformers, The Hangover, Dr Ken, and of course The Masked Singer. Ken Jeong is not only funny and an actual doctor, he is also a Michigander. He was also born and raised in Detroit.

A lot of actors have worn the red cape, but it was Tom Welling who has played Superman longer than anyone else. Technically, he was Clark Kent on Smallville for ten years, but he was Superman for a whole new generation of fans. He was born in New York, but got his first taste of acting when he was a student at Okemos High School. Yep, Superman went to high school just down the street.

Michigan has plenty of famous faces from all over the state, and I didn't even touch on Madonna, Stevie Wonder, or Bob Seger. It is pretty cool that various parts of Hollywood are represented by Pure Michigan!
