There are three things I've been missing like crazy since we got hit with the coronavirus pandemic, concerts, movies theaters, and casinos. I'm not a huge gambler but I love going to Soaring Eagle or MGM to play the slots. Obviously I haven't gone in a while since casinos have been shut down since March.

It is starting to feel like there's a bit of light at the end of the tunnel as the state is supposed (hopefully) to reopen at the end of the month. If all goes according to plan casinos will be opening back up as well.

According to WDIV, MGM Resorts will make significant changes when it reopens in Detroit. The company, which has been closed since March, revealed seven distinct changes in its reopening plan.

  • Employees will be expected to go through temperature checks before entering properties which is something they're currently already doing. Guests will be asked to abide by a similar self-screening protocol as well.
  • I don't think it will come as a surprise that employees will be required to wear a mask and guests are strongly encouraged to wear one in public too. If you don't have one, MGM will provide one for you.
  • Plexiglass barriers will be installed in areas throughout casinos and lobbies along with a six-foot physical distancing policy.
