Memorial Day Weekend Ceremonies & Events
Memorial Day Weekend is this weekend and there are lots of events and ceremonies to remember and celebrate Veterans.
First, if you are looking for ceremonies there are several not only on Monday but also this weekend. Fort Custer National Cemetery in Augusta and Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly will be having ceremonies on Sunday May 26th, guests can take part in and view the ceremonies. Also on Saturday at 10:30am at Mt Hope Cemetery there will be Civil War Memorial Day services. Right after this at the same location at 11a there will be a ceremony to honor firefighters by the Lansing Fire Dept. In addition, on Saturday the Lansing Memorial Day Ceremony, noon. Evergreen Cemetery (2600 E. Mt. Hope).
Next if you are looking for a parade there will be plenty all over the Lansing-Area on Monday. First Holt Memorial Day Parade, 2 p.m, the parade will start across from Legg Lumber. Mason Memorial Day Parade, steps off from Bond Park at 9 a.m. Williamston American Legion Memorial Day Parade, parade begins at 10am and it will travel north to start on Putnam Street. Dimondale Memorial Day Parade, begins at 11 a.m. and will start at the parking lot of Carl’s and travel down Bridge & Jefferson St. Meridian Township Memorial Day Service, noon at the Glendale Cemetery off Mt. Hope Road, there will be bagpipers, music, and performances from Okemos Boy Scouts color guard. Finally, the Lugnuts Memorial Day BBQ, 1-4 p.m at Cooley Law Stadium, it will be happening while the Lugnuts play inside the stadium.
