
Warning: Major Lay-offs Coming To Several Michigan Companies
Times are tough, not just for the average person in America, but they're also tough for businesses across the board. A lot of companies in response to these issues, have began a series of lay-offs.

With objects such as inflation, rising labor costs, or residuals from the COVID pandemic in 2020, some companies are finding themselves struggling here in 2025. Whether they're national chains, or local here to Michigan, some are struggling.
Warning: Major Lay-offs Coming To Several Michigan Companies
The Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity says that because of the WARN Act, it requires companies to give 60 days' notice for significant layoffs or closures. This year alone, six major companies announced they would expect cuts this year, effecting nearly 650 employees.
Among those layoffs, Flagstar Bank, is set to cut nearly 500 workers by this October, and many more companies are set to follow in suite of that.

Retailers like Macy's, Jack Cooper Transport CO. Inc, Spartan Stores Associates LLC, U.S. Farathane, LLC as well as the Michigan Spring & Stamping all announced the possibilities of major layoffs here in the state of Michigan.

- Macy's Retail Holdings LLC – 92, 117 layoffs
- Jack Cooper Transport Co. Inc. – 88 layoffs
- Spartan Stores Associates LLC – 54 layoffs
- U.S. Farathane, LLC – 180 layoffs
- Michigan Spring & Stamping – 116 layoffs
- Flagstar Bank – 400+ layoffs
