On Sunday evening (Nov. 19), Macklemore brought his everlasting brand of positivity to the 2017 American Music Awards stage when he turned in an energetic performance of his Skylar Grey-assisted song "Glorious," the first single from his Gemini album.

Spitting over triumphant keys from Grey, the Washington-based rapper immersed himself in the performance, losing his breath at a few points during the song. For her part, Grey, who also performed alongside Eminem at Saturday Night Live last night, sang her heart out, belting out the "seize the day"-coated lyrics so they soared high above the sounds of the piano she was playing.

Macklemore was the first rapper to perform at the star-studded awards show, but that doesn't mean he's the only hip-hop rep to grace the stage. Earlier in the night, DJ Khaled took home the trophy for Favorite Rap/Hip-Hop song with "I'm the One," off his Grateful album.

With the 2017 AMAs still set to broadcast until 11 p.m., there are still a few more chances for rappers to be recognized for their dominance. Drake and Kendrick Lamar are both up for Best Artist of the year and a few more. Migos, The Weeknd, Post Malone and Childish Gambino have also been nominated for trophies. You can check out the winners as they're being announced by checking out our official 2017 AMAs winners list.
