Longtime Cab Company Closing in East Lansing

The Spartan Yellow Cab Company is closing down after 70 plus years of service in East Lansing and Mid Michigan. According to Lansing State Journal, the Spartan Yellow Cab company has closed it doors and will no longer be servicing the area. The Spartan Cab and Yellow Cab merged to become Spartan Yellow Cab in 1996.

The owner of Spartan Yellow Cab Company Ron Bewersdorf, sent a statement to the LSJ talking about why they closed, which you can see here. But they closed due changing of business with Uber and Lyft in the East Lansing area. It was also due to  "... crushing insurance premiums and a decline in passenger rides". So because of that it wasn't making business sense to stay open.
