I have written a good handful of articles about Lansing, whether it was about a certain topic like restaurants, movie theaters, etc.

To write an entire overview of Lansing would take quite a long time, as Lansing has so much history and fascinating things throughout.

So instead of writing a super-long tome, I prefer saying it with photos and pictures. Two of my articles that can be referred to as Lansing Part 1 and Lansing Part 2 feature extensive galleries that show many, many photos of what it was like to live in Lansing as far back as the 1800s. Not only do the pictures romanticize what it must have been like to be alive back then, but it gives us a chance to daydream and imagine ourselves without all the ‘luxuries’ we have now.

Could we have survived that era? If someone were to pick us up out of the 2020s and plop us down somewhere between 1870 and 1920, there is no way we would make it. We’re so dependent on electricity, the internet, telephones, vehicles, TV & movies, etc. that we would fold. However, if we were actually born back then and lived it, then sure we’d survive. I mean c’mon – millions of others did…so no reason why we couldn’t have.

That said, I hope you’ll enjoy this third gallery of photos and memorabilia from Lansing’s past. This time around, there are some local TV station blurbs from the 1950s-1970s, vintage photos going back over 100 years, and a few pieces of collectibles.
