We have all been to the house that gets trick or treating very right and the one that does it very wrong. Some people buy a ton of candy, get their decorations right, and put together a great vibe for about 5 kids to show up. Halloween has changed since we were kids.

First and foremost you want to be safe. When you take the kids out, it has to be priority. Lifehacker.com posted a list of ways people mess up this whole trick or treat thing.

The right candy goes along way too. If you are sitting at home and passing it out, you don't want to mess this up. We determined that candy corn and circus peanuts are not good. Let's not buy them or pass them out. Peanut butter cups, M&M, and most things chocolate trend up. Personally, those Halloween Kit Kats are top notch. Make sure you get the candy right. On that subject, do we really like Tootsie Rolls?

It is fun to set the mood at your house. We have a big wolf, skeletons, and man eating plant that greets people. You have to keep in mind that little kids scare easy. You want to have some cool props, but you don't need little kids sobbing. Not a good look and hard on your ears!

A couple more things, make sure you don't have big holes or things people can trip over. No one needs an injury. Passing out candy is not required. If you don't want to participate, remember to turn your lights off!
